Chemical Peels

A clear, firm, glowing complexion is lying just below the surface of your skin. Our chemical peels are a non-invasive way to tackle fine lines, hyper pigmentation, sun damage, scarring and other issues. Administered by a skilled medical esthetician, chemical peels will reveal fresh, new skin with no injections and minimal downtime.

We offer a lighter peel, which is best for superficial issues like fine lines and sun spots, and a deeper peel that’s designed to address sun damage, scarring, or more advanced aging. We will help you determine the right peel in our free consultation.

The Glow Peel – This multipurpose resurfacing treatment from AlumierMD, combines the powers of salicylic acid (7%), lactic acid (7%), resorcinol (7%), soy amino acids, and yeast-derived oligopeptide to improve the fine lines and hyperpigmentation. The Glow Peel is a lighter treatment designed to give you great results with less downtime. This treatment is perfect for people looking for deep exfoliation and overall rejuvenation.

The Perfect peel – This deep peel combines Glutathione, kojic acid, TCA, Salicylic Acid, Vitamin C, Retinol Acid to reduce or eliminate hyperpigmentation, sun damage, melasma, acne scars, and other signs of aging. The Perfect Peel is our strongest peel, and has the added benefit of stimulating collagen and elastin production for healthier, firmer skin. While hydroquinone is still the gold standard for treating melasma, this peel works wonders for lightening skin and banishing pigmentation.

Chemical peels work exactly as you think. Chemicals like salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or trichloroacetic acid, are applied to your face, removing the top layers of skin to reveal healthy, new skin below. Chemical peels range in strength from very light to deeper, stronger peels. Lighter peels address superficial issues such as uneven skin tone, and stronger peels are more effective for wrinkles, scars, or adult acne.

It takes approximately a week after treatment for your skin to stop peeling. Within 7-14 days after your treatment, you’ll start to see healthy new skin. While one treatment will give you visible results, we recommend multiple peels for maximum effect.

Before your chemical peel, you’ll have the chance to meet with me for a free consultation. I’ll get to know you and your medical history and determine which peel is the best option for you. It’s important that every patient selects the right treatment to fit their specific needs and skincare goals at the time.

No special preparations are required prior to facials. If you have very sensitive skin, I may help you develop a plan to prepare for your treatment.

Our medical esthetician will begin by cleansing and drying your skin. They will then protect your eyes, hair, nose and mouth with a barrier cream or gauze. The peel will be applied to your skin and allowed to sit. During this time you may feel a mild stinging or burning sensation, but we will check in with you every step of the way to ensure you’re comfortable.

Once the peel is removed, we’ll apply medical-grade skin care to soothe your skin and start the healing process.

When a peel is tailored to your skin type and performed by a professional, you should have minimal discomfort and downtime. If you feel any pain after your peel, you may use a cold compress or take Advil/Tylenol.

Side effects generally last 7 days and include redness, dryness, irritation and mild swelling. After a few days your skin will start to peel, and hyperpigmentation or breakouts may be more noticeable for a short period. You may gently remove the peeling skin, but it’s important not to pull or pick at it.

To promote healing after your peel, you should stay hydrated, use a gentle cleanser, and moisturize well. Avoid wearing makeup for 1-2 weeks, and do not use any physical or chemical exfoliants on your skin. Be sure to wear a good SPF as the new skin will be sensitive.
