Thread Lifting

If you’re interested in pursuing threat lifting, a neck lift or brow lift (fox eye or cat eye brow lift), Toronto offers the most dedicated and considerate practitioner — right here at VBeauty Spa.

Anti-aging treatments are one of the most popular requests for medical aestheticians and it is understandable that men and women want to look their best and feel confident and secure in their skin. Thread lifting is one of the most revolutionary modern procedures available to help achieve this aim.

Thread lifting is a nonsurgical way to address sagging skin — such as jowls, saggy neck or drooping cheeks. This makes it the perfect solution for patients who want fast, effective results without having to opt for an intrusive and costly operation.

Rather than removing loose skin with surgery, threads provide strong and stable soft tissue lifting. The threads gently pull back and reposition soft tissues, resulting in a younger, refreshed appearance. Thread Lifting is easy to perform, has very little downtime and is much more minimally invasive and cost-friendly than surgery. As a result, it has become a highly sought after treatment — as it combines the highest efficacy with convenience and reliability.

The process of thread lifting is very simple and easy to understand. Thread lifting lifts the fat compartments upwards in the areas such as cheeks, jowls and neck, offering a subtle, natural-looking result. This treatment is most effective for people with mild or moderate sagging skin, which makes it ideal for clients looking to take good care of their skin and address early signs of aging.

With a free consultation, you can investigate your options and discuss your specific skincare concerns and discover if thread lifting is the right procedure for you. There’s never been a better time to take advantage of all of the transformative treatments now available with the peace of mind that you’re in the best hands in the area for skincare and aesthetic medicine.

Thread lifting is a simple, yet effective process that works in two ways. First the threads, which have small cones/graspers on them, physically lift the skin. The cones grab the skin from under the surface and pull it into the desired position.

Second, the threads provoke the body’s healing response, which stimulates collagen production. Your body sees the threads as a foreign object and sends collagen to “heal” the area and expel the sutures. In this way, the procedure tricks your body into producing more collagen in those areas, which enables your own skin to help restore and heal itself.

Collagen, which our bodies stop producing in our late 20s, is key to firm, even-looking skin. In addition to the immediate effects of the lift, you will notice a gradual restoration and improvement in the tone of your skin, elasticity and texture, as well as defined face contours and lifted, stabilized soft tissue. This treatment is able to produce multi-faceted results over time, which is partly what makes it such a popular and efficient treatment among my clients at my aesthetic medical spa.

If you’re interested in a nonsurgical facelift, neck lift or brow lift; threading is the ideal solution for clients wishing to improve their skin’s appearance in a lasting way that improves their self-esteem and confidence.

One of the main benefits of this procedure is that the results from a thread lift are immediate. You will notice lifted, firmer skin right away. Even better, the results from this treatment continue to improve for 3 months after the procedure. Because threads dissolve within 1-1.5 years, the results from a thread lift generally last from one to three years. After threads are reabsorbed, however, the lifting effect stays due to fibrotic tissue and collagen production induced by the threads. This means that, unlike other treatments, thread lifting has a beneficial residual effect on the skin after the threads have gone.

Since thread lifting is so low risk, you may choose to have new threads put in once the results wear off. As a result, you can benefit from the effect of the threads again, in addition to the remaining lifting effect from your previous treatment. Whether you’re getting the procedure for the first time or opting for another thread lift, Toronto area residents can benefit from a dedicated and responsive service at VBeauty Spa.

Before your thread lift, you’ll have the chance to meet with me for a free consultation. I’ll get to know you and your medical history and determine if thread lifting is the best option for you. It’s important that every patient selects the right treatment to fit their specific needs and skincare goals at the time.

If thread lifting is appropriate for you, we’ll then discuss the areas you wish to have treated so that we’re prepared for your procedure appointment. No special preparations are required prior to thread lifting treatments, which makes it an easy and effortless process for clients on the day.

As far as skincare treatments go, thread lifting is relatively quick and easy. The procedure takes about 1 hour and is done under local anesthesia with minimal pain and discomfort. This makes it the ideal solution for clients who wish to avoid the pain and recovery time of facial surgery that requires a general anesthetic.

Using a cannula or needle, I will insert the threads below the skin. Once the threads are in, I will lift the tissues to the desired position, lifting, fixating and tightening. The ends of the threads are clipped and I’ll apply antibiotic ointment to the entry and exit points. The aim of the treatment is to recreate a heart-shaped face, or ‘triangle of youth’, lift droopy skin and create a stable nonsurgical lift.

After the treatment is complete, you can go about your day! This is the beauty of a nonsurgical face lift – rather than waiting for the general anesthetic to wear off and your body to recover from an invasive operation, you can simply return home and relax as you allow your skin to respond and adjust.

As the procedure involves inserting threads into the skin, there’s a little bit of downtime after a thread lift. You might want to book your appointment during a period that you know will be more relaxed and easygoing, as well as avoid any major events or activities as your skin recovers from the process.

You may have some swelling, unevenness or bruising at the treatment area, but this should subside within a few days to a week. If you’re uncomfortable after your treatment, you can take Acetaminophen and apply ice.

After your thread lift, you should:

  • Apply antibiotic cream at the entry and exit points for 5 days
  • Apply ice regularly for 2-3 days after your treatment
  • Avoid sleeping on the side of your face for 3 days
  • Avoid rubbing or massaging the treatment area for 5 days
  • Avoid sun exposure for 3 weeks
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and excessive sweating for 3 weeks
  • Avoid exaggerated facial movements for 3 weeks
